Troops deployed in operation IDON RAINI on Saturday 9th June 2018 while on clearance patrol along Maganda – Funtua road rescued eight hostages who were earlier kidnapped along Maganda – Sofo Birnin Gwari road. Those rescued include: a. Three men. b. Two women. c. Three children. Items recovered from the bandits include: a. One red Golf car. b. One trailer. c. Two boxes of clothes belonging to one of the passengers. Also, troops on patrol to Nachibi village recovered a motorcycle abandoned by the bandits on sighting the troops. Similarly, troops encountered bandits at Maidaro village where they were rustling some cows. Three members of the vigilante sustained gun shot wounds while one person was killed in action during the encounter. One motorcycle was recovered from the bandits.

A worker with a bank in Lagos State, identified only as Bunmi, has been declared wanted for allegedly defrauding some customers of the bank. It was learnt that Bunmi hacked into customers’ bank accounts and diverted over N3m into some private accounts. Punch gathered that the fraud was uncovered after owners of the accounts complained about their disappearing funds, which made the bank to institute a probe. The bank management reportedly blocked the accounts into which the funds were transferred. Owners of the blocked accounts, who were reportedly unaware that their accounts were being used for fraud, were said to have reported at their various branches and complained of the development. The bank management was said to have handed them over to the police. The Zone 2 police spokesperson, CSP Dolapo Badmos, said further investigations led to the arrest of Bunmi’s accomplices – Babalola Akinyele, aka Olumba; and Adeshina Adenekan, aka Oluwo Ake. Singer, Iyanya has come out to correct the notion that he left Triple MG to sign with Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records. He claimed that it was only an arrangement ahead of the plan for Temple Music. Via a thread of tweets, Iyanya has clarified the topic of his ‘signing’ with Mavin Records. The singer stated that he left his former label, Triple MG, and signed off his share to his former partner, Ubi Franklin. Iyanya further stated that contrary to the public opinion that he signed for Mavin Records after leaving Triple MG in 2016, his relationship with the label was only an affiliation and that no contract was signed. He revealed in his post that it was the idea of Idris Olorunnimbe, the founder of Temple Company- the parent company of his new label, Temple Music. After that, Iyanya saluted Don Jazzy for the role he played in the transitioning process. A Nigerian wedding decided to deviate from the norm of jollof rice and chicken as its delicacy by serving an unconventional meal of Garri and fried fish. A Nigerian pastor and his wife with their twin babies have reportedly survived a ghastly motor accident in Benin. Mr Chinedu Amirinta is a Nigerian pastor who recently escaped tragic death with his family in an accident. The pastor took to his Facebook page to thank God after his wife, his twins and himself, survived a ghastly motor accident near Benin while on their way to Lagos for the children’s Thanksgiving. Ex-Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria Isabella Agbor Ayuk, has come to the aid of a certain widow who was thrown out of her home by the children of her late husband. The 2102 beauty MBGN winner came to the aid of one Mrs. Rose Leku Asigbe who had to fend for, and take care of her six children at one of the most feared flood torn area in Bendeghe-Afi community of Cross River State. Ayuk and her Isabella Ayuk Foundation, IAF team were out at the beginning of the year on a five day charity outreach on indigent widows and Cameroonian refugees displaced by crisis in southern Cameroon.
